TWENTY YEARS OF BLISS

Just a quickie today. My wonderful husband and I will shortly be celebrating our twentieth wedding anniversary and it prompted me to make up a scrapbook page to mark the occassion.  We met when I was a mere slip of a girl (17 and he was 28!) and married when I was twenty and we've been very happy together.

I use my computer a lot to make up pages for my scrapbooks.  I have Photoshop 6 loaded but have still not managed to crack that yet! I just use PowerPoint to layout my pages using text and photo boxes, I can then crop my photos to fit, print them off, cut them out and adhere them to my page.  It gives me much more flexibility on fonts and exact placement.

I am working on a whole scrapbook album with a special pic from each year we've been together as a present for him on the big day itself.  I'll have to get my thinking cap on to come up with something extra special for our 25th!

YOU'RE INVITED...

Today I thought I'd share a bunch of wedding invitations I made last year.  I'm lucky enough to get an opportunity to make up some invitations and then get an invite to the big event!  Just LOVE a good wedding.  These are samples that I made up for a friend and they then chose the one they liked.

This one was a simple square card with an embossed edge around it and then I made a square envelope that it slotted into at the top from the same cardstock.  I printed the motif on my computer and then layered on top of some gold mirri card to make it pop.  The motif was used on all the associated stationery (name place cards, RSVP cards, menus etc).

This one is based on the same principle but with lots more colour and instead of a motif I used the happy couples initials.

This is using the same design as the first batch but as a card this time.  Inside is a slot that holds all the information the guests need. 

Finally I made a DL sized envelopment card, again with a slot that holds all the guest information.

I took all these photos with the intention of making a sort of brochure but have never actually got around to it - one day I'll get my life in order!  Its taken me year to post them here so I'm not holding out much hope of completing that little project for at least another 12 months. LOL!

BABY'S FIRST - BOX CARD

My boss became a grandmother last year and baby Cai was coming up for his first birthday.  She asked me to make a special card for her to give to him and instead of a boring old card, I decided to make an exploding box instead.

I created the box from 12x12 cardstock, scored at 3, 6 & 9 inches, turned the card and scored the same on the next side to make 9 even squares.  I folded along the score lines and on the centre square placed a picture of Cai.  I made pockets on four of the sides and inserted a little note card with a bit of ribbon on each to pull the note card out with.  The idea here being that she could add any little birthday wishes or special phrases so that Cai could keep it and read them when he was older.

I made a lid for the box and typed some birthday wishes on it and stamped a cake image on it.  I then stamped another cake image and cut this out.  Coloured it and mounted it on foam pads and placed over the top of the other stamped image to raise it off the lid.

I decorated the outside of the box with some patterned paper and adhered some little chipboard zoo animals that I got from a DCWV set and it was finished!

I love making these - they are fabulous things that you know people will keep, particularly if they are for a special birthday or occassion.  My boss adored it and thought it was a great idea.  She filled it with a little gift and completed all the tags with some special messages from each of the grandparents and Cai's auntie and uncle.

HOME SWEET HOME

Another day and another scrapbook page to share.  This is one I made using photos I took on a very rare sunny day last summer (let's hope we have a better one this year!)

We moved to Pembrokshire 5 years ago from Surrey and we have never looked back.  We just love it here.  We managed to find a lovely house with loads of open space around us so its quiet and peaceful and the scenary is stunning.  We live 10 minutes from the nearest beach and spend loads of time there walking the dog and just enjoying the views. 

I used some paper scraps to build up the page and some foam stamps on the bottom edges which I now wish I had not done, I don't like the effect very much so I may well redo this at some point but overall I'm pleased with it.

Did a little bit of journalling and attached a few flowers and popped a gem in the centre of each - finished!

Sorry it's such a short post today, got so much housework to catch up on which I detest, far rather being doing my crafty bits but it's just gotta be done!
