KITCHEN PICS

Nothing creative to share today but I said I would show a few pics of our new kitchen and now that I can upload them, here they are.
The BEFORE shot...

The kitchen we inherited when we moved in.  Pretty old and falling apart (none of the doors closed properly and I hated the floor and wall tiles!) BUT at least it was clean and tidy.  I painted the walls before any work started, one because originally it was bright, bright yellow and two to hopefully save a bit of time when the new kitchen was fitted..

DURING...
We thought we'd be OK on the electrics front, just a few sockets to be moved but once the kitchen was out, we found wires coming out of everywhere and these all had to be taken sorted.  We needed a few more sockets added and a new lighting fitted so this took a while and slowed things down bit.

THE FINISH ARTICLE...

I wanted a painted wood finish in cream and this one suited perfectly.
I just LOVE the whole thing, especially my new range cooker.

My sewing machine got some use too when I made the Roman blind for the kitchen window in material to match wallpaper I am using on one wall in the dining room which opens out from the kitchen so it all ties in together.

Catch up with you soon, thanks for popping in to see me.

CHRISTENING WISHES

I was asked to make up a card for a Christening so here is what I came up with....

It was only after I had finished it did she mention that she is the godmother.  I could not adjust the front of the card without ruining it so I just made mention on the inside instead.

KIDDIE TAGS

Hi All

Finally got my dongle through the other day and after a bit of fiddling about we have got it working and I can now upload some photos.  A bit slow but at least I can do it now.

I am off to London tomorrow for my niece's wedding at the weekend and I wanted to share with you a few of the last bits I have done to take with me.

All the menu's and name cards are done but there are several little ones coming who obviously don't need a menu with their name on it.  My sister has got a load of bags which we're going to fill with little gifts for each child (little colouring books, crayons, juice drink etc) and I decided to make up a little tag for each bag with their names on it.  There are seven in total....

I used the label die from PTI and the Cricut Create a Critter cartridge to make all the little animals.  Some googlie eyes and a bit of glitter really brought them to life.  All ready to be tied to the bags.

My niece wanted to use purple as her colour theme and luckily I had some left over ribbon and card stock from the wedding I did last year who also used purple so I did not have to buy too much more to make up all her invitations.

Here is the table plan now that its all completed.  Butterflies are the other major element of the scheme and each table is named after one...

I used a Spellbinder die for the two butterflies on the top of the plan and mounted each on to a piece of purple vellum using a solid die to match.  The dies are from a collection called Papillions.

I bought the pearl and diamond broaches from a local jewellery makers outlet and used one on the table plan and one on the wedding post box.  These are soooo gorgeous I am going to have to ask for them back once the wedding is over!

Well thats its for now.  As I will be away for a week, I will be scheduling the next few posts until I get back.

Enjoy the bank holiday weekend everyone in the UK.  Here's hoping that we'll get to see some sun for a change!  It has rained every day in Wales for the last 3 weeks (one and off). I am almost transparent I am so pale!

AN UPDATE

Its been a while since I last posted I know.  We are have having terrible problems with our internet connection (its virtually non existent where we live now, the down side of living in the sticks I suppose) and although I can get online, its soooo slow, I am struggling to get pictures uploaded.  We are waiting for a new dongle to arrive (today I hope!) which promises to be better than we have at present so fingers crossed, things will speed up a bit and I can get back to normal.

We've finally got our kitchen fitted and I have my office back (almost).  It was full of boxes and furniture for the fitters to be able to get all the new kitchen bits in.  I'll be back soon with some new posts so please keep checking back.

Hope you all having a great day.

take care

GRATITUDE

I knocked up a quick card for a friend to say thanks for all they've done for me recently.

I used Copic markers to add a bit of colour and some shading.

I embossed the white background and used DP from Tilda.  All images and sentiment are from Papertrey Ink.

SUGARY SWEET

I think these colours together are sugary sweet - reminds me of ice cream or bon bons (I used to love them when I was a kid!).

This whole card is made up using cardstock, DP, stamps, inks and dies from Papertey Ink, with a couple of gems from Prima.

Sorry so short today, got lots going on here, just wanted to pop in, share a card and say HELLO :)  !

NOUGHTS & CROSSES

My Cricut machine has now been unpacked so got to work with it today.  I used the fonts cartridge that came with it to make up this card.

I measured and scored the card based into 9 equal sections and then cut out the letters in 2 3/4" and again in 2 1/2 " sizes and mounted the smaller on top of the larger for some depth.  I cut the heart from a PTI die.

I think this does need a little something else, just can't make up my mind what yet - my mojo is on a go slow this afternoon.  Southern Comfort and lemonade is needed I think!  Catch you soon.

A LITTLE BIT OF MAGNOLIA

I just love this little image, its so cute and as its quite small, doesn't take a mo to colour up.  I used a selection of DP from SEI for my background here with an embossed section using a plate from PTI.

I coloured the image with Copic markers and added a touch of glitter here and there.

And a bit closer.....

A used Prismacolour pencils for the shading around the image.  The sentiment is from PTI.

My new kitchen is due to arrive today and I am soooo excited!  We have never planned and fitted a kitchen before and the one we have in the new house is in desperate need of replacement - its old and falling apart!   Work starts on Monday so I'm preparing myself for disruption, noise and dust everywhere - perfect excuse to lock myself in my craft room for a few days I think!

BRIDE & GROOM

Hi all

My niece is getting married in August and I have been trying to come up with a card for her.  This is my first attempt at it.  I am pretty sure that I will make up a few others and take my pick from the bunch but so far, this I like!

I used some gorgeous flocked DP from Anna Griffin and some ivory shimmer cardstock as my base.  I cut a section off the front of the card to add a bit of interest. The sentiments are from a set from Waltzing Mouse.

Off to walk the dog now before dinner.  Have a good evening!

NELLIE

Today I have another little sewing creation to share.  I made a smaller version of this previously but this one is a lot bigger.  She's so cute!

A closer look....

She is from a book by Tone Finnanger called 'Tilda's Studio' which has a ton of projects to play around with.

Now that I've made a few of her creations, I thought I'd try and sell them on eBay or set up an Etsy account or something.  I've not taken up many craft fairs for the last 12 months, it just takes so much time to get everything together so I am just sticking to Easter and Christmas one these days.

I need to start shifting these before they take over the spare room :) and unfortunately I was made redundant a week after we moved house so whilst I am job hunting, I am getting some extra 'play' time in so hopefully will have some more ready to go fairly soon.  Got a couple of interviews lined up now though so perhaps something will come from one of those.  Keep those fingers crossed for me!

Take care.
