BACK TO NORMALITY

Hi All

I'm back!  The house move went smoothly and we are really settled in now.  Only a dozen or so boxes that are still to be unpacked - you kinda loose the enthusiasm after 70 odd don't you!

Now that we've got the broadband sorted out I wanted to check in and share a little explosion box I made last week for a friend to give at a wedding today.  (Fingers crossed for the couple - the weather is pretty awful today, it started to rain the day we moved house (30 May) and we have only had 4 days since then when it hasn't rained - madness!).

The top of the box.....

...and the inside.

It has four tags inside, two of which I decorated and two I've left blank.

I used a Martha Stewart border punch to make all the decorative edging inside and outside the box.

The little wedding cake inside...

I used Martha Stewart punches and Spellbinder dies for the decorative edging, Tilda patterned paper for the box, pearlised ivory cardstock for the cake and the sentiments, tag die and heart dies were all from PTI.

Well thats it for me today.  I am so behind with everyone I have lots of blog visits to do this afternoon to see what you've been up to whilst I've been out of action.

Thanks for keeping in touch and for the comments you've left for me during my 'down time' period.  Pop back soon!

ITS ALL ABOUT THEE AND ME

I was trawling through some pictures the other day, and I found this one that was taken on a trip to Singapore to visit my best friend Ruth a few years ago.  We don't have a whole lot of pictures of us together as its usually me who holds the camera but I like this one so wanted to make up a scrap page with it.

It brings back memories of a great holiday and on this particular day we had just finished a fabulous long Sunday brunch on the quay with a whole gang of us friends together.  It went on all afternoon and boy was it warm.  I am unsure though whether the chap in the background was trying to get in on the action!

TEXTURE OVERLOAD

I made a butterfly card a while ago using this technique and wanted to have another go.  I really like the effect.

I used Spellbinder dies for this one again and began but cutting different sized ovals from the same set and then layed them out onto the base card in the same cardstock colour and trimmed it all up.

a close up....

REACH FOR THE STARS

How cute is this little stamp!     I got it in my last order with PTI but just didn't seem to get around to using it until now.

I coloured it with Copics and splodge of glitter and cut out the clouds in felt.  All products used are from PTI.

Hope you're having a good day.

A FAMILY AFFAIR

I have another scrapbook page to share today.  I have two sisters and I am the middle one age wise.  My older sister used to have to look after me and my little sis when we were younger as she's 11 years older than us - poor girl - couldn't have much for her in the boyfriend stakes I shouldn't think!

The picture  used here is a scanned copy of a picture from a photo booth.  Each of us has one of the four photos it took and I keep mine in my purse.  I blew it up and added it to the page.  (I am the one on the left - the only blond in the family!).  I was about 5 or 6 when this was taken.

We are fairly spread out these days, I live in South Wales, my older sister in Bristol and my little sis in Surrey and we don't see each other as much as we should.  I see more of my little sis Sharon whenever I go back home to visit my mum.  We ALWAYS have a great time when we get together though.

Enjoy your day!

THE 'BIG' 6 0

I was asked to make a card for someone who would be celebrating their sixtieth birthday and I was a bit stuck for an idea and a total lack of time!  In these instances I resort to others for inspiration and for this one I was searched through Nichole Headys blog - always a favorite with me.  This card is based on her design and was really quick to pull together.

I used a Sizzix embossing folder for the background and a mixture of Spellbinder and PTI dies for the rest.  For a bit of glitz I used ivory shimmer cardstock, some glittered cardstock and a smattering of gems.  All polished off in less than 15 minutes!

CLEAN AND SIMPLE

I really love a clean and simple card, not too much fuss.    I adore this stamp set from PTI and used it for make up this card.

I was intending to colour the main image but the stamp is so clean and clear, it seemed a shame to mess with it so I left it as it is.

All stamp images and inks used are PTI.

Have a good one.
