SPEEDY RECOVERY

.
'Tis the Season... for colds and flu!

Yep its started already and the germs are on the run.  I have been trying to avoid any contact with anyone remotely snifferly and hope to esacpe catching anything at all this year.  However, a friend has not been so lucky so far, hence my making a card to let her know that I am thinking of her.

Hope you're having a better day!

HAVING A WHALE OF A TIME

Back to the ole Cricut machine again (this will be the last one... for a while anyway... I promise!)

For the 'waves' I had to use a circle punch because I don't have an edge punch that would make this cut but it seemed to work fine.  I glittered the edges to give definition and used a blob or two or Pinflair glue to layer then onto the card.  Foam pads would have raised them too high which would make it impossible to get into the envelope.

I am on the hunt now for some new cartridges, I seem to have gotten the bug well and truly now for these.

IN NEED OF INSPIRATION?

Today's post is a scheduled one.  It's my birthday today  (42 aaaahhhhh!) and I'm down in Surrey visiting my mum who's birthday is a few days after mine.  She's been in a care home for a couple of years now (sadly she suffers from dementia and is no longer 'my mum' really but in the periods when she does know who I am, I love being with her so am looking forward to spending some time with her, my little sis and the rest of my family.

I was a little stuck for inspiration for a card for her and as a steadfast Papertrey Ink fan, I read Nicole's blog all the time.  One of her favourite places to visit is the Decor 8 Blog.   I've found some great inspiration from it and when I saw this pic I just wanted to make a card straightaway.

What I came up with...

a closer look...

Hope you have a great weekend all.  Catch up with you again soon.

CHEEKY MONKEY

I'm on a roll, its yet another Cricut Create a Critter for you today folks.  This cheeky chappie was just too cute not to use him somehow.

I had the perfect sentiment for him too from Tiny Treats Birthday set (PTI).

The banana was a little tricky to handle because it was so small but I had to try
to keep the proportions balanced.

Pop back soon, I am working on some more!

JUST FOR DAD

Cards for the men folk can be a bit difficult for me.  I like pretty colours and thats not generally a bloke thing!  However, this is blue and its pretty but it works (at least I think so anyway!)

I used PTI's aqua mist cardstock and embossed it, the sentiment, felt and dies are also PTI.  The monogram stamps are Anna Griffin.  This card is on its way to a friend for their dad's birthday.

Catch up with again soon.

PTI 5th ANNIVERSARY CARD

PTI are celebrating their 5th Anniversary and there are so many gorgeous bits they've released this month.  My order is already in!

Todays card is based on one of their anniversary sketches.

What I can up with......

Everything used is by PTI except the blue patterned paper which is from another supplier (I have no clue who its just in a bundle from my stash!)

AMORE

As its the month of romance, here's a couple of cards I whipped up a few weeks ago for valentines or a wedding perhaps.  Super quick to do...

A Martha Stewart punch did the edges for me and couple of Marion Emberson stamps did the rest on this card.

and this one...  monogram stamps courtesy of Anna Griffin and textured cardstock by American Crafts.

Enjoy your day!

VALENTINE - possibly!

A very quick post today, just wanted to share the card I made for Jerry for valentines.   If this year is like any other year, he usually forgets and quickly whips something up after raiding my supplies and a couple of Copic markers!  I have to watch him very closely to make SURE he does not damage, or worse, ruin any of my supplies... serious injury, perhaps even death would swiftly follow should that be the case, of which is he is very aware!

I am still waiting for a PTI order to arrive which I had hoped would have been here by now so in the meantime, this is what I plan to give him.  It will not doubt change as I am pretty fickle!

The stamps I've used here are a mixture of Marion Emersion  and PTI plus a Spellbinder die.

Have a great weekend.  Hope the weather improves, its freezzzzzzzing here!

FLOWER POWER

Today's card is based upon this photo I saw at http://decor8blog.com/.  I loved the colours and had to make up a card in those shades.

Here's my interpretation...

And a closer (albeit a little out of focus!) look...

Off to find some more inspiration.  Have a good one all.

ANOTHER CRICUT CARD TO SHARE

I'm really getting into these now.  I loved this octopus but couldn't decide how to display him on the card.  In the end I choose the goldfish bowl and I think it worked well.

I had run out of acetate so I had to use vellum for the bowl itself and once I'd stuck all the bits to it, remembered you can see glue through it but I managed to hide most of the adhesive except a tiny blob at the top left corner and the base.

For the sentiment I used a few different stamps from PTI and just inked the words that I wanted.  Those little Brilliance tear drop ink pads are perfect for that.

I am going to a craft fair over the Easter bank holiday which is being hosted in aid of Healing the Wounds, a Welsh armed forces charity raising funds to help with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) for people who have been mentally traumatised in conflict.  A great charity and one which I support.  So I am making up a whole bunch of stuff to sell and hope to raise lots of cash.  This will be one of those cards I hope someone wants to take home with them.

BACK ON TRACK

.
WOW, where did January go?!  I have at last got on top of my nieces wedding stationery so hopefully will be able to post a bit more often for a while.

So here's a card I made up this morning. Its for no-one in particular just a standby card for my stash/craft fairs.

I am in LOVE with this particular Martha Stewart edge punch!

Thanks for checking in - come back soon!
