STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD

Today I've made a card just using the same background stamp over and over again but making one image stand out by using a different colour to highlight it.  I've seen similar cards and think it works really well.

This image is from PTI and I stamped some cardstock with Versamark watermark ink, with one image in snow white ink.  I then used a copic marker (Cool Grey no. 1 C1) to highlight the detail in this image only and make it pop a little.  For the white punched strip, I used a paper punch and then lined it up on the reverse side and punch it again to get the double edged effect.

I added the pink ribbon to bring a bit of colour into it.  Cute and simple.

That's its from me today, I'm off down the beach for a walk with the dog now, my favourite past time these days (except for crafting of course!)

See ya

PUNCH MAGIC

Hello all

Found more use for my new stack of patterned papers from DCWV!  Sorry if your bored seeing this range by now but can't help myself!  Really quick cards to knock up in a hurry.  A square paper punch, a tag, sentiment and a bit of ribbon and you're all done.  I had more pictures to show you of these but I am again having that problem getting them to load on to the page the right way up.  I can only assume its a glitch with Blogger as they mostly load fine but every now and again recently it just chucks one in upside down or something!

Have a great day.

ITS ALL IN THE DETAIL

More wedding stuff to share with you today.  I've already showed you the Order of Service I've made.  Now its the packaging's turn.  I wanted something nice and pretty to put them all in for when the ushers are handing them out to people as they go into the church.  I was really lucky to find some boxes at Poundstretcher a few weeks ago that suited that job perfectly and the colour was ideal.... purple... to match the accent colour used in all the stationery!  They are covered in fabric and were a bargain at £5.99 & £6.99 each.

I used the same tags on the front as I used for the actual Order of Service with some flowers and a bit of ribbon to break up the main colour a little.

They will be nice to keep afterwards too for storing all her wedding bits in.  The Order of Service fits perfectly in these boxes and I think makes all the difference to look and feel on the day.  Its all in the details!

The wedding will here is a little over a week and I am dead excited.  Outfit all sorted, hair & nail appointments booked.  I'll be spending the week prior to the wedding helping get the marquee organised and kitted out and just generally sorting out the finishing touches. Its gonna be fun!

Take care

PLAIN AND SIMPLE - I LOVE YOU

Hi All

A real quick card today and as I'm in wedding fever mode, it had to be a slushy one!  I've used some DCWV Linen Closet patterned paper on some Fine Linen cardstock from PTI here.  Stamped the sentiment and cut it out, added some punched hearts from the same mat stack as the patterned paper, popped on a flower and a few gems and all done.  Just perfect for your little frog prince!

Catch you all soon.

DAUGHTER - ON YOUR WEDDING DAY

Today has been spent making up a little sending off gift for my friends to give to their daughter on the morning of her wedding.  Rather than just do a card which would end up in a box in the cupboard somewhere and looked at once in a blue moon, I thought I'd make a pretty box that could be kept on display on her dressing table all the time.  A constant reminder for her of her day.

This was made using several paper designs from various companies that I liked the look of all together. They are from DCWV, PTI and K&Co mostly.  The ribbons are all from a supplier I use online.

I found the hat pin online also and fell in love with it.  I've had it for quite a while just waiting for the right thing to use it on and was the basis for the colours I've used for the rest of box.

For the edges of the lid I used some PTI cardstock and punched the design with a Martha Stewart punch which was one of many recent purchases from QVC and this is the first time I've used.  I thought it added a really delicate finishing touch overlaid on the glittered cardstock.

I didn't have an double sided cardstock I like so used some linen effect DCWV cardstock for the base and lined it with some gorgeous shimmery paper from K&Co.

The little gift inside is a poem I found which was perfect for this.  I printed it off on some shimmery white cardstock and stamped a design around the edges.  Once rolled, just tied with some matching blue ribbon and popped it inside.

The poem on it is as follows:-

Today dear daughter, as you walk down the aisle
You'll see all the faces wearing a smile.
But as we remember those young tender years
Our smiles will conceal a few hidden tears.
It isn't through sadness , our emotions just whirl
As we're both thinking back to our dear little girl
And now you have grown and made us so proud
As you smile for the camera and the rest of the crowd
Remember dear (name) as you become a new wife
You're still very much a part of our life!
We're not losing a daughter, we are gaining a son,
You're new lives as husband and wife have begun
So be blissfully happy and enjoy your 'Big Day'
Have a wonderful marriage with a rose strewn way!

I thought it was lovely and said it all really!  They do no know that I've made this for them yet but I know for sure that they will love it.

Now if you're interested, the stuff I've used for this is as follows:

Box base:  Outer - DCWV The Linen Closet Stack.  Inner - K&Co 'Elegence' Shimmer Paper
Box lid:  DCWV The Line Closet Stack.  Decorative Trim: PTI Aqua Mist cardstock cut with Martha Stewart edge punch
Tag:  American Traditional Designs 'Vine Heart Ornament' stencil.  Rubbed with some blue chalk from Pebbles Inc.
Other:  Ribbons, flowers, hat pin - all from various online suppliers.
Stamps & Inks Used:  Year of Flower : Violet  and Turning a New Leaf, both from PTI.  Inks were Aspen Mist & Wheat, both Tsukineko VersaMagic and VersaMark Watermark ink, again from Tsukineko
Finished Box Size:   4.5cm D x 5.5 cm H x 16.5 cm L

That's it for today.  Have a good one, as always.
Hugs

OOH, GRUBS UP - WHAT WE HAVING?

Morning all,  today is the day for sharing the menu design with you for this mammoth wedding I am working on.  (for those getting bored with all this stuff, don't worry it will be over soon!!!)

I had seen something similar to this in Hello magazine years ago and loved the idea of having a name card and menu all in one.  A know that a lot of people like to keep these sorts of things from weddings and what better than one with your name on it!

I am up to menu number 209 at the mo and still more to do!  I made all the little bows myself which as you can image has taken me AGES but I think it was definitely worth all the effort.  The menus will be slotted inside specially folder napkins which will allow the top portion to show, so that the guest name and the wedding info is visible.  They will just slide out when ready to be read.

For each of the tables, instead of table numbers, I am doing table names.  As my friends are the brides parents and they are farmers, they have decided to use all the names of their fields for the tables.

These are double sided and are really sturdy little things because of the amount of cardstock used (all those layers!).

I am so so pleased with how all this stuff has turned out.  The happy couple are trilled too and I've still got loads more bits to do.  I am so enjoying doing all of this.

Take care.

ORDER OF SERVICE

Hi all

Still on Wedding mode and I am sharing the Order of Service today.  The design is based on the Invitation with the ribbon and tag on the outside along with the 3 little diamantes.

The cover is again made from the Diamond White cardstock folded to A5 in size.   I made a small slit along the spine about 1 1/2 inches from the top to thread the ribbon through and tied at the front as before.

For the inside front cover, I popped the 'logo' at the top and then mounted a black and white picture of the couple onto the patterned cardstock used throughout the design.  Under this is a poem that they requested be added.  Inside sheets are as you would expect, the hymns, readings etc and a list on the back page of all the people involved in the service.

I managed to find some gorgeous boxes in a purple fabric with lids that will hold all the Order of Service in at the entrance to the church for the ushers to hand out and on the way out I will be leaving A5 white envelopes with the bride and grooms logo on the front for the guests to take if they want to  keep their copy, something for them to store it in and keep it nice and clean.

I am decorating the boxes and will share these shortly.

Hope you're all have a good one.
Take care

TWEETIE BIRTHDAY WISHES

I'm really on a roll with background stamping!  Another one for you today.  All items are from PTI.

I used Linen for the background colour and I wanted something bright to inject a bit of colour so used one of most favourite PTI colours, Berry Sorbet to ink up the main image.  This card was based on one from the fab team over at PTI which I loved so much I had to try it myself.  Once I got started I had to do some more!  I'll post these in the next few days.

take care all
