FAIRY TALES

The weather is truly terrible today, its been pouring with rain for the last couple of days non-stop and today is my day off work so what to do?!

My Cricut machine is a fairly new but little used purchase so I had the urge to get it out for a play.  I decided to try the the sand castle from the Create a Critter cartridge (the only cartridge I own at present!) but wanted to use it as a little princess palace instead. Apologies for the poor picture quality, it seems almost dark outside despite having all the lights on indoors.

Once it was cut and assembled, I added some roofing using my Friskars scissors and layered them on the top and smaller turrets.  I glittered up the windows using some ultra fine Prisma glitter and a Zig glue pen and then drew in a port cullis.

I wanted more dimension so I added some brick work lines using my pokey tool and a ruler.  I then added a couple of flags and glittered these.

I stamped and coloured the princess image using PTI's Tiny Treats Birthday set and coloured with Copics.

Super Cute!

Have a great day and I hope the weather is a lot better with you than it is with me!

A 'NO TIME TO CRAFT' CARD

.
A quickie card to share today.  I am working on the stationery for my nieces wedding in August but it has lots of elements to it so whilst I am trying to get myself organised with that, I seen to have no time to spend on just cards!  So a real simple one for you today which took no time to put together.  Apologies in advance - its another butterfly!

I know its nothing too fancy but it works for me!

Have a good one.

HELLO YOU

I hardly ever use just black and white on my cards.  I don't know why because I think it looks really nice so made this one earlier to give it go - as you can see though, I could not resist a little colour injection!  Black and white is the main focus though so I won't beat myself up over it!

I've used a set of monogram stamps by Anna Griffin to make up the HELLO.  The patterned cardstock is by Kanban and the rest is PTI. Border punch is Martha Stewart.

I will have another stab at just a black and white and try to avoid adding any colour at all... as my school report was forever telling me ... 'has the ability, must try harder'!!!

Hope you have a great weekend.

BUTTERFLY... WHAT BUTTERFLY?

I wanted to make up a card using a butterfly made from some left over felt but really wanted a butterfly background for it, only without colour.  I don't have an embossing plate with butterflies on it so I made up my own embossed effect background paper using die cut butterflies from my old Sizzex & Spellbinder dies.  I really loved the result so wanted to share it.

Once I'd punched them out, I laid them out in a sort of pattern before sticking them down.  I trimmed off the overhanging excess and it was done.  The base cardstock is shimmered so it has a soft glimmer to it.

I used the dies again to cut out the main butterfly is green felt.  The sentiment and patterned paper are PTI.

My well used and much loved dies!

Hope you've had a great weekend.
Catch you soon.

NEW YEAR BIRTHDAY WISHES

.
Start of another year and I am already on the first of this years birthday cards.  A friend of ours is turning 50 this week so wanted to make up a little card for her.

I had just taken delivery of a new bunch of Anna Griffin papers and was itching to use them so this was the base of the design.  I had a scrap of purple frilly ribbon left over from another project and I thought the pale colours of the paper needed a real punch of bright colour so used the ribbon here.

I hope you had a fab time with your families over the Christmas period.  How many resolutions have already been broken I wonder?!!  One of mine was to get back on the old diet again, but seeing as I haven't actually started it yet, technically I haven't broken mine so far.... it will happen though I know that for certain!

Take care
