HAPPY DAYS

Its move day tomorrow, it seems to have come round so quick, I can't believe it.  Really excited about it but will also be really, really sad to leave this house.

Hubby is also officially retiring tomorrow which is great for him.  He's been so stressed the last few years and its not been an easy ride for us but we've got through it.  We decided that he should apply for early retirement with his company and thankfully they accepted it and offered him a good package, so it seemed the right time to go.  He was with them for 37 years but I think he's really glad to get onto another stage in his life.

Now for today's card, a little something for the master of the house, just to tell him how much he means to me....

At some point tomorrow the broadband and phone will be disconnected and I will be without access to the internet for a while until we are settled into our new home and have got ourselves sorted out.  So after today, it'll be scheduled posts for a bit.

Off to finish cleaning up the house now, hoover and duster working overtime!

PRETTY BIRD

Another Tilda creation today to share.  I'm getting much quicker at these - only took the afternoon to get this one made up.

How cute is this little bird in the cage.  This was a little fiddly to make but I got there in the end!

I added a little heart necklace and some ribbons and a flower in her hair.

I am hoping that at some point I will be able to sell these - but I like them too much at the moment to want to part with them!

ON THE MOVE

Just wanted to share the moving cards I made up yesterday. Apologies in advance for the quality of the photos, I took these last night!

I created the template for the house in Powerpoint and sized it for the envelopes I wanted to use.  I then traced the outline on the cardstock and cut them out.

I used a Heart die from PTI for the decoration on the roof and typed up some labels for the front and the new address details for the inside and printed them out.

I found some free clipart on-line for the little moving van.

I made a whole bunch of them in different coloured cardstock (all from PTIs range).  I was half way through when I took the pic last night and have just finished them off this morning ready to go in the post today.

Hope you're having a good day.

A MAN AND A DOG

A scrapbook page today to share with you.

Dylan, our dappy whippet, really is a mummy's boy but he loves a run on the beach with his dad.  I love this picture and wanted to use it as the main focus of the page.  BUT I have so many of the two of them messing about that I had to add a few more!

I haven't scrapbooked for AGES.  It was only when I was packing all the albums away that I thought about doing another page.

VERY SHORT AND FAIRLY SWEET

A real quicky today.  A very simple card made using a PTI stamp set and a Martha Stewart edge punch.

A close up...

Have a great day!

MY WORLD

Its been a really busy week with me.  I seem to be endlessly packing up stuff ready to move home and as soon as I think I've nearly cleared a room - I open another cupboard and a ton more stuff glares out at me!  I am surrounded by boxes, brown tape and labels!

I needed a break so headed for my craft room to make up a card.  Thankfully my camera seems to be behaving itself today!

a closer look..

I used patterned paper from the Tilda range, label and butterfly die from PTI and a Martha Stewart punch for the border.

I feel much better now!
Take care.

MAKING AN IMPRESSION

I am loving my new Sizzix impression folders so much, I had to use as many as possible on one card.  The photos don't do it any justice, my camera is still playing up and only seems to work when IT feels like it.  It won't focus properly and the flash comes on whether I set it to or not!  I am supposed to be the 'photographer' at my nieces wedding in August so I'd better get it into the camera shop soon for some TLC, its clearly in need of a bit of maintenance, OR WORSE, replacement.. AAHHH!

Anyway, back to the card....

The simple plainess of it seemed to suit a sympathy card and nothing else.

Well, more playing to do, catch you again soon.

FABULOUS BIRTHDAY WISHES

I recently sold a ton of stuff on eBay because we are hopefully moving house fairly soon and I really need to make room.  However, no sooner has I sent everything in the post, I was buying more stuff!!  Nightmare.

Anyway, I bought some ribbon and gems and a couple of stamp sets so I wanted to use them all straight away.

I started by using one of the stamps to make a pattern and the first few impressions were solid, then it all went a bit wrong.  However, I actually quite like the effect - its fairly soft and delicate I think.

I stamped the sentiment and then used some embossing power.  In the flesh its lovely but the light is reflecting in the photo which makes it look unevenly stamped.

I love the simplicity of the finished card.

SOME MOMENTS

Just got this new stamp by Marion Emberson and wanted to give it a try out, and as purple and green are a fabby combination and I had a scrap of green ribbon on my desk... seemed like a good place to start!

OK, I know the impression was not too great on this one and it is on embossed paper but after a few goes with my nail file over the surface of the stamp, it works a treat now.  HOWEVER, time was short and I couldn't really be bothered to start this one all over again so it is as it is!

Have a good one all.
