GRATITUDE

I knocked up a quick card for a friend to say thanks for all they've done for me recently.

I used Copic markers to add a bit of colour and some shading.

I embossed the white background and used DP from Tilda.  All images and sentiment are from Papertrey Ink.

SUGARY SWEET

I think these colours together are sugary sweet - reminds me of ice cream or bon bons (I used to love them when I was a kid!).

This whole card is made up using cardstock, DP, stamps, inks and dies from Papertey Ink, with a couple of gems from Prima.

Sorry so short today, got lots going on here, just wanted to pop in, share a card and say HELLO :)  !

NOUGHTS & CROSSES

My Cricut machine has now been unpacked so got to work with it today.  I used the fonts cartridge that came with it to make up this card.

I measured and scored the card based into 9 equal sections and then cut out the letters in 2 3/4" and again in 2 1/2 " sizes and mounted the smaller on top of the larger for some depth.  I cut the heart from a PTI die.

I think this does need a little something else, just can't make up my mind what yet - my mojo is on a go slow this afternoon.  Southern Comfort and lemonade is needed I think!  Catch you soon.

A LITTLE BIT OF MAGNOLIA

I just love this little image, its so cute and as its quite small, doesn't take a mo to colour up.  I used a selection of DP from SEI for my background here with an embossed section using a plate from PTI.

I coloured the image with Copic markers and added a touch of glitter here and there.

And a bit closer.....

A used Prismacolour pencils for the shading around the image.  The sentiment is from PTI.

My new kitchen is due to arrive today and I am soooo excited!  We have never planned and fitted a kitchen before and the one we have in the new house is in desperate need of replacement - its old and falling apart!   Work starts on Monday so I'm preparing myself for disruption, noise and dust everywhere - perfect excuse to lock myself in my craft room for a few days I think!

BRIDE & GROOM

Hi all

My niece is getting married in August and I have been trying to come up with a card for her.  This is my first attempt at it.  I am pretty sure that I will make up a few others and take my pick from the bunch but so far, this I like!

I used some gorgeous flocked DP from Anna Griffin and some ivory shimmer cardstock as my base.  I cut a section off the front of the card to add a bit of interest. The sentiments are from a set from Waltzing Mouse.

Off to walk the dog now before dinner.  Have a good evening!

NELLIE

Today I have another little sewing creation to share.  I made a smaller version of this previously but this one is a lot bigger.  She's so cute!

A closer look....

She is from a book by Tone Finnanger called 'Tilda's Studio' which has a ton of projects to play around with.

Now that I've made a few of her creations, I thought I'd try and sell them on eBay or set up an Etsy account or something.  I've not taken up many craft fairs for the last 12 months, it just takes so much time to get everything together so I am just sticking to Easter and Christmas one these days.

I need to start shifting these before they take over the spare room :) and unfortunately I was made redundant a week after we moved house so whilst I am job hunting, I am getting some extra 'play' time in so hopefully will have some more ready to go fairly soon.  Got a couple of interviews lined up now though so perhaps something will come from one of those.  Keep those fingers crossed for me!

Take care.

BRING ON THE SHINE

A quickie to share today.  A little Magnolia image and some basic mat and layering.

 A couple of close-ups....

Off shopping now.  Not the nice, girlie kind unfortunately - a Tesco food shop - hell on earth!

Have a great day.

A LITTLE DISTRESSED

I've never really experimented with distress inks before but just bought a couple from Tim Holtz so here is my first attempt.  This is not perfect so be nice!

I did struggle a to get an even tone and not to harsh on the outer edges but it didn't really work for me.  I used a craft mat to help ease the blending tool over the card but I definitely need more practice with this I think!

However, I do like the finished card but it could certainly be better.  The sentiment I used is from PTI and the inks used were Brushed Corduroy &  Frayed Burlap.

Until next time...
